Blue-chips diverge, VN-Index continuously reverses around reference

Vietnam stock market opened the last session of the week with green color returning after the ATO session. However, blue-chips struggled to make VN-Index continuously reverse around reference.

As of 9:40 a.m., VN-Index was up 2.26 points (0.17%) up 1,325.84 points, the HNX-Index rose 1.04% to 314.56 points, the UPCoM-Index rose 0.5% to 87.61 points.

At the moment, VN30 group has 19 stocks of increasing price, 7 stocks of decreasing and 4 stocks of standing at reference price.

The strongest gainers in the VN30 group were VRE, BVH and PNJ with a ratio of over 1%. On the other side, VPB, VCB and PDR traded below the reference level, restraining the gaining momentum of the general market. Today is the ex-dividend date for Khang Dien House Trading and Investment JSC (KDH) to close the list of shareholders to issue shares to pay dividends (rate 10%).

Banking stocks traded differently this morning when the cash flow went to SHB, NVB, SSB, CTG and HDB. On the other side, PGB, LPB, VIB, BID, KLB and STB were in red.

Similarly, oil and gas stocks also moved in the opposite direction. Some stocks recovered after yesterday’s drop, such as PVO, PVB, PVS, PET, PVT… Only, PVD still fell deeply after the news that customers owed hundreds of billions to apply for bankruptcy.

After yesterday’s excitement, seafood stocks continued to prosper in this morning with strong gainers such as AGF (8.8%), IDI (3.2%), MPC (3%), VHC (1 .8%)…. Similarly, some nitrogen stocks also continued to gain momentum such as BFC, LAS and SFG.

On the international market, the US stock market on June 10 set a new record as investors ignored the higher-than-expected May inflation data.

Specifically, the S&P 500 index rose 0.5% and closed at a historic peak of 4,239.18 points. This market index also set an intraday top with a score of 4,249.74. The previous record belonged to session 7/5. The market has been moving sideways in a narrow range for over a month.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 19 points, or less than 0.1%, to end the session at 34,466 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose about 0.8 percent to 14,020 points.
