Today (September 26), Dong Tam Group officially inaugurated phase 1 and started phase 2 of Long An International Port.

Long An International Port covers an area of 147 hectares, 20 kilometers from the East Sea mouth and about 40 kilometers from the center of Ho Chi Minh City. The project is divided into 3 phases with a total investment of nearly 10,000 billion VND.

According to the design, the port has 7 berths capable of receiving ships of up to 70,000 DWT with a total length from the beginning of the berth no.1 to the end of the wharf no.7 is 1,670 m; 7 barge berths; warehouse system, bonded warehouse system; Container yard system and other ancillary works.

Mr. Vo Quoc Thang, Chairman of Dong Tam Group, said that the warehouse system for storage at the port is expected to be over 400,000 m2.

The project is expected to meet the needs of transporting and storing agricultural, aquatic products, fertilizers, iron and steel for the Mekong Delta (Mekong Delta). This is also the gateway for import-export businesses in the Southeast region to gather and distribute goods by road, sea or inland water.

According to information from the Government Newspaper, during the construction and operation period, the port welcomed nearly 1,000 domestic and foreign ships in and out, reaching nearly 1 million tons of imported and exported goods through the port. The port has also successfully received and unloaded cargo for many vessels up to 50,000 DWT.

In addition, investors are completing procedures for the deployment of berths 8 and 9, to be able to accommodate vessels up to 100,000 DWT.

At the same time, the total length of the wharf system is raised up to 2,368 m, becoming one of the international berths with the largest port length in Vietnam today. Size of cargo throughput is about 80 million tons / year.

All items as well as the operating center system are being promptly constructed and built on schedule, completed in 2023.

Long An International Port is located in Can Giuoc district, on Soai Rap river channel, located adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City, is the gateway connecting Ho Chi Minh City with 13 provinces of the Mekong Delta.

The project was officially built in 2015, is located in a population of 4 component projects with a total scale of 1,935 ha. In which, Long An International Port, Southeast Asia Industrial Park Long An, Southeast Asia Industrial Service Area Long An and Southeast Asia Urban Long An.
