Thua Thien – Hue approves the planning project on both sides of the Huong River

The People’s Committee of Thua Thien – Hue province has approved the detailed planning on both sides of the Huong River, with a land scale of over 855 hectares.

According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thua Thien – Hue Province, the scope of planning includes the area along the Perfume River from Hope Canh Hill to Bao Vinh Ancient Town, about 15 km in length, the width of each side of the river approaches the roads along the banks of the river or about 100 m from the edge of the river on each side (including Mussels and Wild Park alcohol).

The specific boundary has the North bordering on Nguyen Phuc Nguyen, Kim Long, Le Duan, Tran Hung Dao streets; the South borders on Bui Thi Xuan and Le Loi streets; the East borders on Huyen Tran Cong Chua Street, Luong Quan Street, Bui Thi Xuan and Nguyen Sinh Cung Streets, riverside land; West: border with Chi Lang street, riverside land.

The land scale for planning is about 855.08 ha, of which, water surface is 503.84 ha. Regarding population size, current population is about 14,462 people (3,386 households), planned population is about 10,300 people (2,372 households).

Regarding street landscape organization, adjust wider city center routes and build convenient urban facilities for vehicle and pedestrian use, naturally harmonize with park landscape and Neighborhoods, create iconic routes.

The central public road will arrange a street landscape with a lot of outdoor activities; pedestrian street connected to the park; Chi Lang street and Bao Vinh street are arranged with traditional street landscape.

The upstream roads of the Huong River will arrange separate street landscapes to expand the visibility, not to cover the surrounding natural environment, to maintain suitable distances between trees.

Arrangement of landscape routes that reflect typical activities of the area such as: business routes, sightseeing routes, cultural routes.

To form a street landscape environment to enhance the symbolism of the route through a system of trees, typical architectural works, urban utility works.

To form pedestrian streets in the planning areas and remove fencing walls adjacent to the pedestrian street to increase internal contact with outside. Priority is given to planting broad canopy trees, arranging utility works such as squares, benches, beverage stands, public toilets.
