The delegation of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Dong had a working session to Dong Nai province on the progress of compensation and site clearance for the expressway construction project. Phan Thiet – Dau Giay.

According to the leader of the Ministry of Transport, the construction project of the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay expressway has a fast construction time within 24 months. Therefore, the contract with the construction contractor has a clause that if it is delayed, it will be sanctioned. Therefore, the site clearance must be completed and handed over to the construction unit early so as not to affect the project construction progress. The Deputy Minister of Transport also suggested that the province basically complete and hand over the site by the end of September and early October to serve the commencement of the project. Districts and cities that have projects going through need to focus on site clearance, construction of resettlement areas and relocation of technical infrastructure systems.

Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway is a component project of the North-South Expressway, the gateway to the East, and is one of the two national key projects in Dong Nai province (together with the Long Thanh International airport project).

The Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway has a length of about 99 km. In which, the section passing Dong Nai province is 51.5 km long, passing through Xuan Loc, Cam My, Thong Nhat and Long Khanh districts. To do this, Dong Nai has to acquire an area of about 412 hectares, and has completed about 87% of the workload of the entire project so far. The starting point of this expressway is located on the route from National Highway 1 to My Thanh (about 2.6 km from National Highway 1) in Binh Thuan province; The end point connects to the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway in Thong Nhat district.

Leaders of the Department of Transport also worked with the province on the project to renovate and upgrade essential works from Nha Trang – Saigon, Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City railway. The province needs to speed up the site clearance to commence in late October and complete the project in 2021. The project has a total length of more than 411km passing through the territory of 4 localities, in which, the section passes through the territory. Dong Nai is 68.9km long.

To implement the project, Dong Nai must acquire nearly 5 hectares of land in Trang Bom district, Xuan Loc district and Long Khanh city. Currently, localities are implementing the work of tallying and determining land prices to formulate compensation and support plans for the land to be recovered.
